Holidays, Diabetes and Prevention
The holidays are usually packed with high sugar foods that lead to diabetes. As Christmas comes your way there are more and more sugary foods on offer. Your blood glucose levels can soar on holidays unless you are careful.
One way to control your sugar level is to choose when you are going to go on that sugary binge. And do not overdo it on that day either. On the other days stay away from the sugar. Stay away from all those free sweets on offer in the holiday season as well.
One sneaky but effective way to stay away from offerings: sometimes, someone you know very well has worked really hard to prepare a chocolate cookie. It is really hard to say no to one. So compliment them on every aspect of the cookie. Accept one, and the if possible give it to someone else. Saves you from the sugar!
It is important to remember that the food is part of the fun and not greater than it. Focus on the other fun happenings in the holidays. Let the food take a backseat for once.
Exercise more. This is the easiest way to keep your blood sugar low. Remember if you take a few precautions, you earn a lot of good health and happy days ahead in return. Here’s to health!
