Managing Diabetes
Diabetes is an illness that has the ability to disrupt normal living patterns. Like any illness proper management can be the key to living a better quality life. There are a number of elements that go into managing diabetes. One is diet, the other is exercise.
First a quick look at exercise. You need regular exercise to keep your blood sugar levels down. This could be intermittent and could take the form of walking up the stairs or taking a walk to pick up the groceries. In addition you should also follow a light exercise regime that will keep you fit.
The other and most important thing to managing diabetes is a proper diet. Avoid refined sugars. These shoot up glucose levels. Eat more often in the day. Mind your intake of triglycerides and fat. Eat more complex carbohydrates. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid alcohol. Eat fish oil, borage oil and omega 3 oil.
Managing diabetes effectively can be the key to living a healthy and happy life for diabetics. Consult your dietician for the right diet and exercise combo to effectively manage diabetes.
