Stress and Diabetes
Stress is intimately connected with many illnesses, including diabetes. While genes predispose you to be diabetic or not, certain other lifestyle factors decide whether you develop diabetes and how severe it grows. One of these is stress.
Lifestyle today involves jobs which are stressful and may take up long hours during daytime. In turn this may result in reduced sleeping times. Late night parties at work might mean drinking alcohol and smoking, sometimes in an effort to reduce this very stress. While these methods may seem to work in the short term, they are quite harmful in the long term.
Living a life free of stress and one with a smaller waistline –through another stress buster –exercise, may be the difference between a life well lived and one that is wasted. Diabetes treatment should involve the use of stress busters. These are many. Among these stress busters are exercise, meditation, proper diet and also certain drugs like Ashvagandha.
Meditation is a process where the body and mind are systematically relaxed in various ways. One of these ways could be through the focus on the breathing. This concentration on something that is so natural helps calm the self and this calmness stays with the person for many hours beyond the meditation session. In addition, this calmness produces the necessary physiological changes in the body to properly deal with the diabetic ailment.
Another new age stress buster is the Ayurvedic drug Ashvagandha. This drug can be safely used with no side effects, if procured from a good drug firm like Himalaya. Taken one or two times a day, you will feel a reduced level of stress every day.
Living a stress free life through diet, exercise and meditation is the key to dealing effectively with the debilitating illness that is diabetes.
