When To Get Youself Checked For Diabetes

Diabetes is a silent killer. It has affected millions of people across the US and the world. It is neither infectious, not is it water or airborne, yet it is debilitating. If you know that you have diabetes at an early stage then you have the time to learn to effectively manage it. When should you get yourself checked for diabetes?

There are two common types of diabetes - type 1 and type 2. The signs of these two types of diabetes are alike. The biochemical action in the body could result in less or no production of insulin or insulin resistance. These changes in the body create certain external symptoms which let us know that there is diabetes.

One very common symptom of diabetes is excess thirst and as a result of higher consumption of diabetes, excessive urination. This process results in dehydration at times. Another sign of diabetes is fatigue and a flu like feeling. Sudden increases in wieght are another concern and could be an indicator of diabetes.

Yet another sign of diabetes is unclear or blurred vision. This must be taken very seriously. Slow healing of infections is also a sign that you should get your blood sugar checked. If you lose sensation in your hands and feet, this is another sign that you may have diabetes and you should get your sugar checked.

So if you have all of these symptoms or know someone who does, a diabetes check is in order. It may mean the difference between years of good health and years of suffering.
